background

Edward is a Salvadoran American photojournalist interested in stories helping to better understand migration, climate resilience, and practices of faith. He is currently completing a masters degree in International Reporting at Craig Newmark’s Graduate School of Journalism - CUNY.

Edward was born in El Salvador, raised in Missouri and grateful for to know the rolling skies in both places. He aims to document today’s history by seeing the value in moments for what they are now and what they will one day be.

His path into photography began with documenting rescue missions and humanitarian aid efforts or asylum seekers in the North Aegean. Years of collaborating with nonprofits and NGOs with missions based in youth education led Edward to the Bronx Documentary Center and the practice of journalism. He has taken the role of teaching assistant and participated in their inaugural courses on Intermediate Photojournalism.
